My Life In Brooklyn

Walking around the corner onto Fenimore, heading west from Nostrand, I was a little surprised to see strong evidence of change in the short time since I had walked on that particular block.

First, an uncompleted tear-down with a lavender door frame adding a little touch of color to a drab sky.  I hadn’t seen this one coming.  This is (was?) 345 Fenimore.

 

Almost across the street is a new build with “for sale” signs (typical ugly Fedders Building); and a fenced in area with another new build in the works just west of it.  Plus, there are two houses for sale on the street (Fillmore has a sign on one of them; People’s Choice Realty on the other).  This block borders the Lefferts Historic District.

195 Hawthorne in January — I have written about this one before.  Still here, but doubtless not for long.  Less foliage than the earlier picture.  The front door is ajar, so the place may be providing refuge to someone — that or vandals are having a free-for-all.
